Since 1927, Höegh Eiendom has created inspiring and vibrant places. The company takes their social responsibility seriously by making conscious environmental choices, reducing emissions, making the buildings more energy efficient, and choosing sustainable solutions that future generations can live with. Höegh Eiendom is ISO 14001 certified and actively uses BREEAM to ensure that the most important aspects of sustainability are taken care of.

High requirements for accurate systems‍

With a property portfolio of over 80 companies and a desire to be able to see the carbon emissions per company, Höegh Eiendom has high requirements for systems for carbon accounting and reporting. Seamless data integration to achieve accurate measurements is very important, in addition to flexibility and continuous development.‍

Accounting figures are climate figures

Morescope provides a quick estimate of emissions using the figures from the latest annual accounts (transaction data). You can then enter changes with precise figures (activity data) from your own operations, suppliers or partners. The result is carbon accounting in accordance with the GHG protocol. "Carbon accounting starts with the accounting figures and an overview of purchases and suppliers. Therefore, it is an advantage that we know the customer's accounts in detail," says Sjur Langedal, Director at Aider, "together with our partner, Morescope, we assist large and small businesses with carbon accounting."‍

Competitive advantage

Having control over emissions is an important part of a company's competitive advantage. With carbon accounting in place, it is easier for us to implement measures to cut emissions where it matters most. In Morescope, companies can set goals in line with the Paris Agreement and Science Based Targets. The entire report can also be used in sustainability reporting and ISO certification.‍

"Within a few weeks, we set up integration with the accounting system and Morescope, structured the setup so that Höegh Eiendom now has individual carbon accounting per building, divided into owned and managed buildings, as well as total carbon accounting for the entire group. We started carbon accounting for 2024, then we added historical figures from 2022 and 2023, so they can already see changes from year to year, in total there were 240 carbon accounting accounts" concludes Langedal. "Many companies have climate and environment on their agenda. This has become a completely natural part of the decision-making basis and it poses challenges to players in the real estate industry."

"Tenants in the buildings naturally also want an overview of their share of the climate footprint from the tenancy. A future wish is to be able to give each tenant an overview of their climate footprint" Anjan Banstola, Senior Controller in Höegh Eiendom

Chose Aider and Morescope

"We have several services from Aider, including payroll, accounting and ERP system, and it was therefore natural for us to use their sustainability services as well," says Anjan Banstola Senior Controller at Höegh Eiendom. "Aider introduced us to Morescope and we quickly saw that this was a good match for us."
