OBOS takes an important step in reducing greenhouse gas emissions by signing agreements with the technology companies Order Control and Morescope. The digital tools make it possible to automate carbon accounting based on actual purchases — not just estimates.
– The carbon accounts will be based on actual purchases of goods and services, rather than general emissions factors. This will help us make better decisions and implement the most cost-effective measures where we can — which is good for both OBOS and the environment, says Birgitte Molstad, Environmental Director at OBOS.
A recently completed pilot project shows very promising results, and OBOS expects the total carbon footprint to be significantly reduced when the new solutions are rolled out at full scale.
– We are very pleased with the collaboration with OBOS. Together with Morescope, we are creating entirely new opportunities for efficiency and, most importantly, greenhouse gas reductions — for OBOS as both a contractor and property owner, says Ken Morten Steen, CEO of Order Control.
– We are impressed by how OBOS is taking a leading role by moving from reporting to strategic insight. At Morescope, we believe the future lies in solutions that combine high data quality with automation and scalability — because that’s how we accelerate the green transition, says Sophie Bruusgaard Jewett, CEO and co-founder of Morescope.
“The carbon accounts will be based on actual purchases of goods and services, rather than general emissions factors. This will help us make better decisions and implement the most cost-effective measures where we can — which is good for both OBOS and the environment.”
